Brief Introduction to the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair)

The China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, was founded in the spring of 1957 and is held twice a year, in spring and autumn, in Guangzhou. The fair is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and organized by the China Foreign Trade Center. It is China's longest-running, largest, most comprehensive, and most international trade event, with the largest number of buyers, the most diverse origins, the best results, and the highest reputation. It is widely regarded as "China's No. 1 Show" and a barometer of China's foreign trade.

The Canton Fair is a window, a snapshot, and a symbol of China's opening up to the world. It is an important platform for international trade cooperation. Since its founding, the fair has weathered many storms but never stopped, and has been successfully held 135 times, establishing trade relations with 229 countries and regions around the world, with a total export turnover of approximately 150 billion US dollars, and with more than 10 million foreign buyers attending in person or online. It has played a significant role in promoting trade exchanges and friendly relations between China and countries and regions around the world.
